From Cacophobia [κακός + φόβος] An intense, irrational fear of ugliness, including fear of ugly people, objects, or surroundings. As a specific anxiety disorder, it can cause severe distress, leading to social avoidance, anxiety, and sometimes, excessive grooming or cosmetic procedures to avoid perceived ugliness.
